About Waystone
Waystone Woodcraft started with a simple idea: a great gaming table shouldn't have to cost several thousand pounds.
I wanted to create furniture that still felt special, looked at home in a dining room and included the features that make a dedicated gaming table genuinely useful without pushing it into luxury-furniture territory.
Materials with a purpose
I don't believe good furniture has to be made from the most expensive timber available.
I use joinery-grade redwood for the main structure of The Guild because it's attractive, full of natural character, takes finishes well and lets me create a strong, well-made table at a more accessible price.
Where plywood offers better stability or is simply the right material for a component, I'll use that too.
The philosophy is simple: use the right material in the right place, rather than the most expensive one.
Designed around how you'll use it
Waystone tables are designed to work as furniture first.
The Guild combines a recessed gaming space, cushioned play surface and modular accessory rails with a clean, understated design. Add back in the dining top and it becomes a table you can use every day.
Accessories can also be added and repositioned over time, so the table can grow with the way you play.
Small-scale, thoughtful making
I also want to be straightforward about what I use. If something is redwood, I'll call it redwood. If it's plywood, I'll tell you it's plywood.
The value should come from the design, craftsmanship and experience of using the table, not from dressing materials up as something they're not.
Why Waystone?
I started Waystone to offer another option between mass-produced furniture and ultra-premium gaming tables.
Something well made, thoughtfully designed and genuinely useful, without unnecessary extravagance.
